Premier of film on the life of parishes of the Russian Church across five continents to be shown on 26th April.
DECR Communication service, 25.04.2024
The premier of the documentary film entitled The Church of Five Continents will be available for viewing on Friday 26th April.
Many of us have an image of the Orthodox Church as something closely tied to Russia. But what happens if we relocate an Orthodox church to Hollywood or the jungles of Bali? The Church of Five Continents is a unique international project. It shows the life of Russian Orthodox parishes throughout the world in Australia, North and South America, Asia, Africa and Europe.
The film’s main actors are today’s priests and parishioners from various corners of the globe. Is it possible to combine a spiritual life with a life in the world and find one’s fate in church? How does the Russian Orthodox Church outside of Russia bring people together?
The documentary consists of two parts, the first of which will be shown on YouTube on Friday 26th April at 18.00 Moscow time at https://youtu.be/QxtGTbrSyEs.
The premier of the second part is scheduled for the following day on 27th April. It can be viewed at 18.00 at: https://youtu.be/D5DBBJR7b98.
The film has been shot not only in Russian, but also in other languages which will be shown later.
